What is your refund policy?
No refunds will be issued. This includes requests made due to injury, surgery, pregnancy, personal circumstances, date conflicts and professional commitments. This is an industry standard policy and not unique to our event. We will however allow race registrations to be transferred, simply use the contact us form and provide the person's name and email address that you would like to transfer your registration to. Making arrangements to transfer funds to cover the costs of registration will be the responsibility of participants. Once arangements have been made use the contact us page to alert us of the registration swap.
Do you offer special registration for groups or teams?
Because we are raising money for a non-profit organization with Chardon Tomorrow as our primary beneficiary, we regret that we are not able to provide registration discounts for special groups or teams.
Am I able to change my shirt size before the event?
We will make every attempt to honor everyone's shirt request but once the order is placed we will have limited sizes available. If you would like to have your registration updated with a new shirt size please use the contact us page to request the change.
Can I pick up someone else's race packet at the expo?
Yes. Please just make sure you know their birthdate and shirt size so that we can verify this information.
Do you offer race day packet pick-up?
Yes, race packets can be picked up beginning at 1p.m. on race day. Packet Pick up will be held in the space above EveryBodies Gym (357 Washington St, Chardon, OH 44024). There will be volunteers and signs to point runners where to go for pick up.
Do you offer advanced packet pick-up?
Yes, advanced packet pickup will be held at Chardon Brew work on Friday, 1/20 from 4 until 7 p.m.
Can I run or walk with an iPod or other personal music device?
The short answer is yes. We do however ask that you keep the device volume low enough that you can hear other runners or course officials while you are running
What timing device is the event using?
All Great Lakes Race Timing events are timed using official chip timing equipment. You will have an official Chip Start time and Chip Finish time and your actual race time is the difference between those two times. Overall award winners will be based off Gun Time and not Chip time so if you think you will be in the top 3 overall - don't start too far back in the pack.
Are you allowed to push a jogging stroller in any of the races?
Yes, however the weather may limit your ability to navigate the course and it may be too cold to be considered safe for the little ones. We encourage you to consider the conditions before bringing your children to the race. Since this race is going to be run on a narrow bike path we encourage you to consider the possibility of the stroller getting stuck if you have to slide off the side of the path before you decide to bring your little ones to the race.
How many fluid stations are on the course?
There will be one aid station on the course and 1 at the finish line. We will have water and sportsdrink at both. There is a possibility of other goodies at each location as well.
Where does the race start?
The race will start and finish near EveryBodies Gym in Chardon. Parking will be behind the building and there will be signs and volunteers directing you to the appropriate location for packet pickup. The race will start in the driveway and take runners directly on the bike path towards Fifth Ave.
